Role details

The Nursing Services and Productivity at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Nurse Unit Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

Nursing Services and Productivity has evolved to become the centralised nursing recruitment hub for Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS) and is currently in the embed phase of its change management journey. This strategic role provides leadership, operational oversight, and human resource management aligned with contemporary standards and best practice across nursing services.

About the Team

The Nursing and Midwifery Resources Team plays a pivotal role in driving organisational and strategic outcomes across the Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS). With a dedicated focus on workforce planning and optimisation, the team collaborates closely with key stakeholders to ensure the nursing and midwifery workforce is aligned with the evolving needs of patients, staff, and the broader organisation.

About our Hospital and Health Service

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
