QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing management and coordination to the delivery of maintenance and construction activities to maximise project profitability and ensure client satisfaction.
Duties and skills involved:
- Managing and coordinating physical, financial, and human resources on major mechanical and restricted electrical projects in large depots or multiple medium-sized sites.
- Ensuring quality and cost-effective commercial and/or residential building construction for clients.
- Conducting site scoping, preparing accurate material lists, and timely estimates for mechanical and restricted electrical works to meet construction/maintenance programs.
- Assisting in planning and delivering projects through efficient supervision of field staff and subcontractors, applying relevant legislation, regulations, practices, and policies.
- Providing supervisory services and contract administration for the delivery of construction, maintenance, and upgrade work, ensuring a healthy and safe work environment in compliance with QBuild's electrical safety management system and legislation. Developing and maintaining a close liaison with clients to ensure product and service delivery meet agreed outcomes.
- Proactively manage the work performance and personal conduct of your staff.
Additional requirements:
- Current trade qualification (Cert 3 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) and (RAC01 - Full Refrigeration and Air conditioning Licence).
- Current restricted disconnect / reconnect electrical licence OR full electrical licence.
- Current Artick refrigerant handling licence
- Current Workplace Health & Safety General Safety Induction Card, current CRP/LVR training.
