In the role of Surveyor you will assist in planning, designing, constructing and managing its road network. As a member of this team, you will carry out a variety of responsibilities, primarily in delivery of survey projects.

As a member of the survey team in the Downs South-West District you will carry out a variety of responsibilities, primarily in delivery of survey projects.

In the role of Surveyor you will manage engineering survey projects to ensure services meet all objectives through the phases of project cycles of planning, designing, constructing and managing the road network.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• The focus of your role will be to manage engineering surveying projects through all phases of the project cycle to ensure services meet all objectives. To do this you will:
• Work within relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements.
• Maintain and utilise current knowledge and engineering surveying standards.
• Ensure quality aspects of the projects are identified and addressed.
• Undertake specialised survey projects and provide technical expertise and consultancy service in geospatial applications to a diverse range of customers to ensure success, value for money and best practice are adopted.
• Plan, assign, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of team members as required.
• Manage and maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to survey projects.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• A minimum of a 3 year degree in surveying from a recognised tertiary institution, or a qualification that is acceptable for registration as a surveyor/surveying graduate with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ). Evidence of degree or SBQ acceptance must be supplied in writing by the applicant at the time of the interview.
• Valid Queensland ‘C' class driver's licence or equivalent.
• A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards may be required throughout the State, travel expenses are payable.

Desirable requirements
• Registration as a surveyor or surveying graduate with the Surveyors Board of Queensland (SBQ).
• Previous experience in road construction.
• Experience using 12d Model and Trimble Business Centre software.
