About us:

Cardiac Services provides both inpatient and outpatient cardiac care to the community of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. This includes providing critical care in the Coronary Care Unit, inpatient and outpatient Better Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander cardiac patients, inpatient and outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation education and exercise programs, specialist Heart Failure outpatient services and rehabilitation, Cardiac Nurse in the Cardiac Investigations Unit and providing the Chest Pain Assessment Service for the Emergency Department intermediate risk chest pain patients.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and advanced clinical leadership for the BCC team.  The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides direct and indirect care as required and works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, and MDT to support the provision of safe quality culturally appropriate healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients with cardiac conditions.  

About you:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
  • A relevant postgraduate certificate or post graduate diploma of Cardiac Nursing or equivalent is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.

What we offer:

Total monthly remuneration value of up to $13,684 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
