The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Principal Education Officer to join The Arts Learning Area. The Principal Education Officer works flexibly and collaboratively within their team, and with other officers across the divisions, to provide assistance and support to schools in their implementation of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment programs, while ensuring a high level of confidentiality is maintained.

What you will do

In the Principal Education Officer role, you will:

  • lead teams of casual writers and assessors to support the development of curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment products and services
  • lead teams of casual writers and assessors to quality assure school-devised assessments and school judgments and to develop and mark external assessments
  • work collaboratively with Principal Project Officers and Activity Managers to ensure alignment of products and services with whole of organisation directions, policies, and procedures
  • revise and redevelop curriculum products and resources including senior syllabuses and guidelines
  • lead the development of the annual subject report(s)
  • provide timely and high-quality client focused assistance and support to schools, teachers and other key stakeholders
  • provide expert advice to Learning Area Managers and Directors on issues related to the implementation of senior curriculum and assessment
  • create and maintain professional relationships between the QCAA and key stakeholders
  • lead forums, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities
  • undertake other specific tasks as required to assist the QCAA in achieving its business outcomes.

This role requires teaching experience and expertise in senior Dance and/or Dance in Practice. Experience and expertise in other subject areas in The Arts learning area would be highly advantageous.
