Are you looking for a new adventure? Come join the Department of Health as the Senior Advisor, Rural Occupational Violence & Security Support. You will provide expert security and occupational violence prevention advice to Hospital and Health Services across Queensland, with a particular focus on remote locations. You will also contribute to state-wide initiatives and projects to improve the safety and security of all Queensland Health staff, patients and consumers.
Your key responsibilities:
- Coordinate, develop and monitor effectiveness of the health, safety and security management system, programs and initiatives for Queensland Health.
- Establish and integrate processes for managing security and safety risks statewide.
- Coordinate and monitor security and safety assurance requirements, activities and reporting across Queensland Health.
- Assist HHSs with conducting security risk assessments, audits and incident investigations as required.
- Prepare and deliver briefs, and respond to queries, from Executive leaders, media teams and the Minister.
- Research new, novel and emerging security and OV controls suitable for remote locations.
- Monitor incident data and summarise actionable insights.
- Interpret legislation and undertake high-level research and analysis of security and safety issues, incidents and other performance and assurance data and formulate strategic risk management strategies, policies, standards, guidelines and
- Manage stakeholder relationships with HHSs, industry regulators, unions, government agencies and community groups.
About you
You'll be a seasoned professional with extensive experience in security and/or occupational violence prevention. You will be comfortable with navigating a complex regulatory environment, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interpret legislation, policy and standards. You will be familiar with the priorities of a healthcare environment and be comfortable adapting security controls to reflect those priorities.
