Join the Queensland Parliamentary Service as a Support Officer, People & Culture and contribute to shaping excellence in parliamentary operations and workforce support across the state. This is a 12-month temporary appointment with the possibility of extension, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact initiatives. You'll work closely with another Support Officer as part of a small, collaborative team, delivering high-quality support across People & Culture services.
About your new role
As a Support Officer, People and Culture you will:
- Be the first point of contact for People & Culture queries from internal and external stakeholders, providing accurate, timely advice and exceptional customer support.
- Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising roles, conducting employment checks, reviewing selection reports, preparing letters of offer, and maintaining compliant system records.
- Facilitate a positive onboarding experience by supporting hiring managers and new starters through onboarding and probation.
- Co-ordinate and facilitate the face-to-face Electorate Office Induction Program.
- Provide administrative and communication support across projects to help drive successful outcomes.
What we're looking for:
- Demonstrated background in administrative support and/or human resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, paired with a sharp eye for detail.
- Confidence working autonomously, managing competing priorities, and meeting tight deadlines.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new digital tools.
- A strong sense of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- Formal qualifications in HR or administration are a plus, though not essential.
