Sunshine Coast Health are seeking a Senior Registrar to join our Persistent Pain Management Service commencing in February 2026.
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) to practice as a Specialist in one of the recognised prerequisite specialties for Pain Medicine training is required for this role.
The Sunshine Coast Persistent Pain Service is a service that provides a multidisciplinary service to people living with persistent pain and is comprised of medical, allied health, nursing, and administrative staff. We provide services to people living in the catchment areas of Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Sunshine Coast Persistent Pain Service is an accredited facility with the Faculty of Pain Medicine for training in Pain Medicine.
Sunshine Coast Health is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide ethical, clinical, and academic leadership, to ensure that the highest standard of evidence-based clinical practice and policy awareness is integrated into patient care.
- With consultant supervision, develop, implement, and evaluate a management plan within a multidisciplinary setting, for outpatients and inpatients with chronic pain, including inpatients under the care of consultants in Pain Medicine.
- Provide assessment of hospital inpatients with subacute and persistent pain issues referred to the service, under supervision of the consultant.
- Registrars/Advanced Trainees appointed to the service act under consultant supervision but are expected to make clinical and administrative decisions compatible with their level of training and experience.
Salary rates: $6,524.30 - $7,189.50 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (L10 - L13) (temporary full-time position, 76 hrs p.f.) for up to 12 months. Applications will remain current for 12 months / or the duration of the vacancy. Applications may be used to appoint to similar vacancies for a period up to 12 months after the closing date of the initial vacancy.
