Join Our Culinary Team at QAGOMA
Located in Brisbane's cultural precinct, the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is celebrated for its world-class exhibitions and exceptional dining experiences. We are seeking a passionate and driven Commis Chef to join our team and contribute to a food program that values creativity, quality, and care.
As part of our kitchen brigade, you'll work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside experienced senior chefs. This role offers the opportunity to refine your technical skills, engage in diverse service styles - from à la carte and café service to premium event catering - and grow your culinary career within one of Australia's most prestigious cultural institutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs with preparation and service across QAGOMA's outlets and event spaces
- Produce high-quality dishes to the standards set by the Executive Chef
- Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Program and the Food Act 2006
- Maintain Workplace Health and Safety standards and safe work practices
- Contribute to a respectful, professional, and team-focused kitchen culture
- Work flexibly across a rotating 7-day roster, including weekends and evenings
About You
- Experience working in a high-volume or multi-venue kitchen
- Event and catering experience highly regarded
- Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
- Passion for food and a commitment to continuous professional growth
