The role will operate 5 days per week during the school term. You'll build partnerships and support families with young children to connect to their communities.
The Community Hubs program is a national initiative that links families with young children to services, support, learning opportunities and the wider community.
This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.69FTE), 50 hours per fortnight.

Your New Role
What the role looks to achieve:
- Create a welcoming environment, interacting positively with all parents, children, colleagues and community members
- Promote early years hub and broader community activities
- Be the first point of contact to assist families with their enquiries, advocating family needs/issues to the local community partnership group and school
- Organise free activities, programs or events in response to family needs, interests and program outcomes
- Collaborate with internal staff and external agencies to deliver co-located and coordinated services
- Participate in evaluation activities as required
Skills and experience:
- Experience in education, community development or a related field or substantial experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of community development principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and the child and family service system.
- Demonstrated experience working in an education setting.
- Ability to influence and gain support and assistance of parents, other stakeholders, community agencies, early years service networks and staff in developing a community hub.
- Demonstrated capacity to work both independently and as part of a team, including well-developed planning, time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people and families from diverse backgrounds especially culturally and linguistically diverse families.
- Well-developed oral communication skills, sound written and report writing skills.
- Ability to manage a budget and fulfil reporting accountabilities
