About Legal Aid Queensland

Legal Aid Queensland's vision is to be a leader in a fair justice system where people are able to understand and protect their legal rights. Our purpose is to provide quality, cost effective legal services to financially disadvantaged people throughout Queensland.

We embrace diversity, flexibility, learning and continuous improvement to deliver quality legal services. The work is challenging but rewarding - and that is why staff wellbeing and work/life balance are a top priority for us.

About the role

As the Manager, Culture and Capability, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for delivering innovative organisational initiatives that enhance employee engagement and create a positive workplace culture. This includes overseeing programs such as leadership development, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment strategies, and reward and recognition initiatives, as well as implementing contemporary learning and development solutions. You will play a key role in driving effective workforce planning, managing change, and supporting employee wellbeing. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to job design and organisational restructures, managing the learning and development budget, and leading continuous improvement projects. By championing inclusive practices, fostering a culture of excellence, and providing clear leadership, you will drive meaningful outcomes that support Legal Aid Queensland's commitment to social justice.

About you

Our new Manager, Culture and Capability will be:

  • A visionary leader who thrives in challenging and fast-changing environments.
  • A dynamic communicator and collaborator who can inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • An expert in contemporary learning and development, organisational design, and change management, with experience in creating impactful initiatives that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and diversity.
  • A professional who embraces innovation and delivers strategic results through collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement.

While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, a qualification in psychology or organisational development will be highly regarded. You'll also be assessed on your alignment with the Leadership competencies for Queensland, especially in delivering results, championing development, and leading with vision.
