Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is the independent regulator for worker safety and health across Queensland's mining, quarrying, petroleum, gas, and explosives industries, and is seeking a motivated, experienced and suitably qualified person to work as a Senior Inspector of Mines (Electrical).

This role provides support to the coal mining inspectorate within Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) carrying out the functions of an inspector, helping to ensure that the coal mining industry operates at an acceptable level of risk.
The role provides technical advice, including the application of relevant Australian Standards, on a range of mining safety and health matters - to industry, the government, and the community - in particular, on those aspects relating to electrical equipment used in underground and surface coal mining operations.
As a Senior Inspector of Mines (Electrical), you will work manage small team focussing on regulatory compliance and education at Queensland coal mines, through inspections and audits, and by taking appropriate regulatory action when required. You will contribute to the investigation of breaches of safety and health legislation, accidents, incidents, and complaints about the operation of coal mines, and where necessary require remedial action to be undertaken to prevent recurrence.
