Marsden State School is seeking an experienced and motivated educational leader to join our team in the role of Pedagogical Coach, working across Prep to Year 6. This position is central to building teacher capability, strengthening consistent pedagogical practices, and supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality Tier 1 teaching and learning across the school. The Pedagogical Coach plays a vital role in driving this work by modelling effective practice, leading targeted improvement initiatives, and working side-by-side with teachers and school leaders to enhance student outcomes.

Responsibilites include:

  • Strong instructional leadership - ability to lead pedagogical reform and model high-quality teaching practice.
  • Collaborative mindset - able to build strong relationships, collegiality, and productive partnerships with staff.
  • High-level communication skills
  • Data-informed decision making - confident using and interpreting student and systemic data to guide improvement.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven ability to lead and model pedagogical improvement across year levels and/or sectors.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring or developing teacher capability.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy, numeracy, or the specific programs in focus at the school.
  • Ability to analyse and apply data to improve student outcomes.
  • Experience working collaboratively with school leaders and teachers to deliver school priorities.
  • Capacity to design, implement and evaluate teaching and learning strategies.

Highly Regarded:

  • Experience in leading whole-school or cluster-based initiatives.
  • Expertise in Professional Learning Communities/Teams
  • Additional qualifications or training in leadership, coaching or curriculum.
  • Knowledge of Structured Literacy across Prep-Year 6.
