Tagai State College, located in the beautiful Torres Strait, comprises 16 Primary and one Secondary campus. These campuses are spread across 48,000 square kilometres of ocean. For most students, English is an additional language.
The key focus of the role of Coach - Pedagogy, is to lead and implement systems that build staff capability in effective teaching practices to enhance student learning outcomes.
The role will have responsiblities for the following focus area:
- Lead the design and implementation of the Whole School Approach to capability development through differentiation.
- Lead the implementation of the Whole School Approach to Pedagogy.
- Lead professional development for staff on effective pedagogies for EAL/D learners.
- Lead professional development on Explicit Instruction.
- Support teachers and leaders in the Collegial engagement system for staff performance and capability development.
As the Coach - Pedagogy, this role will support the College's Explicit Improvement Agenda around literacy & language, reading, mathematics and Positive Culture for Learning.
Within the context of the role described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has demonstrated quality pedagogical practices in their classroom and in developing capability of other team members.
