About the role
Permanent full time opportunity managing Health Workers in the provision of a health service, which may include discharging delegated authority for a range of responsibilities and accountabilities as determined by the position. Furthermore, this role involves exercising a high degree of autonomy, accountability, initiative and judgement in the use of resources under their control, and in day-to-day resolution of issues and problems, as well as responsibility for the quality of work.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- High level knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, protocols and history, as well as demonstrated experience in engaging with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health inequalities and health issues faced by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community, including social determinants that impact health outcomes.
- Provide cultural support and assistance to people of all ages who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander origin and their immediate families (including babies, children and non-Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander partners) who reside within the Metro North Health region and who access the Minor Injury and Illness Clinic.
- Support the Nurse Navigator, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Satellite Health Hub (Identified) with care planning (as required).
