About the role
Temporary full time opportunity to ensure the complete and accurate clinical classification for all inpatient episodes to meet the reporting requirements and deadlines of Queensland Health.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Assign timely and accurate morbidity and procedural classifications to episodes of care to meet Queensland Health deadlines and Health Service reporting requirements
- Actively support the improvement of clinical coding accuracy by participating in Health Information Service (HIS) quality activities relating to morbidity data collection. This includes; clinical coding, DRG allocation, data validations (Electronic Validation Application EVA), Clinical Documentation Queries (CDQ), Activity Based Funding (ABF) functions and other aspects of health information management.
- Identify and assess potential improvements in documentation including appropriateness of the admission type (acute verses sub and non-acute), clarity of diagnosis, interpretation of results and performing CDQs to optimise DRG assignment for ABF.
