As Principal Portfolio and Bid Officer in the QPS Transformation Office, you will be at the centre of a portfolio of high-priority projects delivering major benefits for the organisation and the community.
Your strong critical thinking and writing skills will be highly valued in this role, which will see you consulting across the organisation, and synthesising complex information into clear, compelling narratives and bids.
This role requires demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive working relationships in complex environments. Working across diverse functional areas, including Information Technology, Digital and Data, Human Resources, Finance, and Property, you will provide trusted portfolio-level analysis, reporting, and advice that enables confident decision making and drives lasting organisational change.
This is a new role that is being offered on a 12-month temporary basis in the first instance. Government experience is not necessary for this role.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Provide timely advice and communication to key stakeholders regarding QPS portfolio status and implementation issues including the preparation of a range of strategic documents as required including briefing papers, reports, submissions and responses to consultation requests.
- Develop frameworks to analyse information and data to assist in identifying, prioritising, monitoring and evaluating QPS projects and programs as well as identifying, planning and tracking portfolio activities and dependencies.
- Provide coaching and specialist support to program and project managers, project team members and project board members involved in delivering relevant QPS portfolios.
- Monitor portfolio risks and issue management and advise on remediation strategies and plans.
- Facilitate the benefits identification process for projects and assist with benefits realisation management.
- Provide specialist input into project assurance health checks and lead reviews where required.
- Maintain a range of collaborative networks across QPS and other stakeholders to monitor and support all aspects of the delivery of initiatives arising from portfolio, program and project initiatives.

Qualification
- Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
- High level writing skills and experience writing funding or grant submissions, bids/offers or tenders will be highly regarded.
