About the opportunity  

An exciting leadership opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to lead the Dental Assistant workforce across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.  The role is responsible for maintaining appropriate clinical and professional standards for Dental Assistant service provision, including infection and prevention control standards.  The role also provides expert advice on dental equipment, consumables and radiation safety.

The position collaborates with the Manager and Clinical Director as well as other senior members of the team to deliver Oral Health Services in alignment with the Townsville Hospital and Health Service Strategic Plan, the Operational Plan and the Townsville Oral Health Service Model of Care.

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $3297.30  - $3499.20  p.h. (CA5)
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • Locality allowance
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Dental Assisting is essential.
  • Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a C class motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis
