Finance Manager (Temporary, 12 months)

We are looking for someone who is committed to contributing to our vision of better public services, and our mission of independent and valued assurance and insights. As the Finance Manager, you will lead QAOs finance team which manages payroll, financial transactions and procurement. You will provide expert financial analysis and advice, deliver QAOs 2025-26 financial statements, oversee our implementation of the Queensland Governments revised procurement policy, and support the transition to a new finance system. You will bring a strong analytical mindset and a collaborative approach to help shape systems, processes and reports that enable efficiency, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.

Based in the Brisbane CBD, the PO6 temporary Finance Manager role is a flexible role that allows you to deliver real change and leadership.
This is a temporary role through to December 2026 to backfill the finance manager while they implement a new finance system. You will support the implementation of the new finance system by providing advice on business processes and testing implementation solutions.
Your experience at a similar level and/or with knowledge of government finance process will allow you to lead a small team to deliver the business-as-usual functions of payroll, financial management and procurement.
It presents an exciting opportunity to help share QAO's procurement policies to reflect the new Queensland Government Procurement Policy, deliver our 2025-26 financial statements, and provide expert advice on our financial management.
