As the Finance Manager, you will lead QAOs finance team which manages payroll, financial transactions and procurement. You will provide expert financial analysis and advice, deliver QAOs 2025-26 financial statements, oversee our implementation of the Queensland Governments revised procurement policy, and support the transition to a new finance system. You will bring a strong analytical mindset and a collaborative approach to help shape systems, processes and reports that enable efficiency, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement.

Job details

Based in the Brisbane CBD, the PO6 temporary Finance Manager role is a flexible role that allows you to deliver real change and leadership.

This is a temporary role through to December 2026 to backfill the finance manager while they implement a new finance system. You will support the implementation of the new finance system by providing advice on business processes and testing implementation solutions.

Your experience at a similar level and/or with knowledge of government finance process will allow you to lead a small team to deliver the business-as-usual functions of payroll, financial management and procurement.

It presents an exciting opportunity to help share QAO's procurement policies to reflect the new Queensland Government Procurement Policy, deliver our 2025-26 financial statements, and provide expert advice on our financial management.
