We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager, Liaison who will provide strategic advice and support to the Director, Statewide Enablement and the broader PQ Executive Team in the management of critical issues and priorities across Pathology Queensland. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless communication, coordination and execution of key statewide priorities.
Key competencies (role specific criteria):
The successful applicant will be a strong people focussed leader with experience leading competing priorities.
You will be a capable negotiator and have extensive experience navigating and building relationships across a large public sector organisation.
You will have a demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality written materials such as briefs, presentations, speeches and correspondence for an executive audience.
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to successfully lead a high performing team including being able to set direction, motivate and inspire staff and establishing a workplace culture where staff are valued, developed, and coached to work to the top of their potential.
- Experience providing timely, accurate and concise advice to senior leadership to support the discharge of their responsibilities and authorised delegations.
- A thorough understanding of departmental structures, governance processes and authorising forums and an ability to navigate, problem solve and support the progress of Pathology Queensland's priorities.
- Ability to understand complex and often detailed medical and scientific information and present it in a way that is suitable for an executive audience that is not medically or scientifically trained.
- Ability to provide advice that is well considered and reasoned incorporating good judgement and political savvy.
- Demonstrated tact and diplomacy including experience managing information that is politically or personally sensitive with empathy and respect.
- Exceptional written communication skills and well developed interpersonal and oral communication skills including negotiation and consultation.
