The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Unit Manager (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Collaborate at a Statewide level to ensure accessibility and continuity of high acuity care
- Work with the wider Newborn Care Nursing team to facilitate Statewide education
- Possess expert knowledge within the clinical fields as well as excellent leadership qualities
- Support the collection and reporting of data to specific critical care networks and databases
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $132 562 - $143 924 per annum
About Us
The Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) Newborn Care Unit (NCU) is a CSCF level 6 tertiary service providing specialised care for extreme preterm infants as part of a State-wide neonatal network. Funded for 12 NICU and 24 SCN/HDU cots (with a larger built capacity), the unit delivers comprehensive neonatal care. As a retrieval centre, it supports families across Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales in partnership with major neonatal services. The NCU is complemented by the NeoNET Clinic and Neonatal Early Discharge Service, offering extended care for well babies and support for early transition home.
