The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Unit Manager (Special Care Nursery) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Work with the wider Newborn Care Nursing team to facilitate Statewide education
- Ensure a cohesive and supportive workplace culture that fosters teammanship
- Possess expert knowledge within the clinical fields as well as excellent leadership qualities
- Support the collection and reporting of data to specific critical care networks and databases
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $132 562 - $143 924 per annum
About Us
The Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) Newborn Care Unit (NCU) is a CSCF level 6 teriary facility providing medical and surgical care for extreme preterm infants.
The NCU functions as part of a State-wide service, working collaboratively with our healthcare partners across Queensland to provide high end newborn care. The NCU is funded for 12 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cots and 24 Special Care Nursery/ High Dependency Unit (SCN / HDU) cots, with a built capacity of 16 and 28 cots respectively.
