Your new role:
As an Advanced Coder at Metro South Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient episode data, by:
- Abstracting and verifying information from medical records in line with industry standards and timelines.
- Utilising clinical coding systems such as 3M Codefinder to assist with accurate coding.
- Performing DRG grouping and revising results to ensure accuracy.
- Participating in coder-clinician liaison programs to verify clinical documentation.
- Providing advice and support to other coding staff on coding practices.
- Maintaining and developing knowledge of coding-related systems, standards, and clinical practices.
- Contributing to quality improvement activities, audits, and departmental education programs.
- Ensuring fair and respectful treatment of patients and staff, embracing diversity and inclusion.

Princess Alexandra Hospital:
The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
