About the Role

As a school-based psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students, parents, and school communities. You will provide professional counselling, assessments, and interventions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns and enhance students' learning and resilience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and group counselling to students, parents, and families to address personal and relational concerns.
  • Conducting psycho-educational assessments to identify and support students with learning or adjustment difficulties.
  • Offering professional advice on diagnoses and monitoring student progress.
  • Supporting school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies.
  • Liaising with external professionals and community organisations to ensure coordinated support services.

This role would suit a compassionate and dedicated psychologist who is committed to fostering student wellbeing and building positive relationships within the school community.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Experience in counselling and therapeutic interventions for children and families.
  • Knowledge of psycho-educational assessments and monitoring student progress.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with school staff and external professionals.
  • Ability to support schools in responding to critical incidents and emergencies.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining registration standards.
