Your new role:

In this role, you will deliver accurate and timely clinical coding across a broad range of specialties, ensuring data integrity that supports funding, reporting and clinical decision-making. You will work collaboratively with coders, clinicians and Health Information Management Services to maintain high-quality coding and contribute to education, audits and continuous improvement.

You will:

  • Assign ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes accurately in line with ACS, national and state coding standards
  • Abstract clinical information from patient records and digital systems to complete coding
  • Participate in audit, quality assurance and coding accuracy activities
  • Liaise with clinicians to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding

 

About you:

You are an accurate, detail-focused coder who thrives in a collaborative team and demonstrates strong technical and analytical skills. You value quality, consistency and continuous improvement.

You will bring:

  • High-level knowledge of ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS and coding across varied specialties
  • Strong analytical and documentation interpretation skills
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with clinicians and team members
  • Ability to meet daily coding deadlines and maintain high standards of accuracy

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
