About the Division
The Resilience and Recovery Division supports building a stronger, safer and more resilient Queensland through foresight, collaboration and informed action. Guided by a forward-thinking approach, we harness insights into emerging risks, challenges and trends to shape QRA's strategy and decision-making processes.
Our division also ensures that Queensland's disaster recovery and resilience policies and programs reduce risk, increase resilience and improve preparedness for future disasters.
About the Role
- Provide expert policy advice relating to preparedness, prevention, recovery and resilience to government and non-government stakeholders.
- Lead consultation and engagement with internal and external stakeholders on policy matters.
- Represent QRA's position in meetings and cross-agency forums, drawing on organisational expertise and experience to influence the wider policy agenda across all levels of government.
- Establish effective internal and external networks and relationships to liaise, communicate and coordinate with key personnel to achieve required policy outcomes.
- Provide leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of the divisional priorities, projects and policy initiatives.
- Lead individual projects with whole-of-government impact to address emerging challenges and opportunities in recovery and resilience.
- Provide strategic input into the development and implementation of plans, strategies and other deliverables to ensure the delivery of QRA's disaster risk reduction and resilience objectives.
- Provide input into, and coordinate and/or review, Cabinet submissions and policy and strategy.
- proposals, to ensure recovery and resilience related issues and opportunities are identified and addressed. Drive QRA's strategic research agenda and research projects in consultation with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead, support and develop a team of professionals in line with performance development objectives and business plan deliverables.
- Undertake related project and other duties of equivalent complexity as required.
- This role leads a small team of policy professionals and reports to the Director, Policy and Program Design.
QRA's workforce is agile and ready to respond quickly to support disaster priorities. You may have the opportunity to undertake other temporary duties or work in alternative locations to support impacted communities.
