Biosecurity Queensland (BQ) plays a leadership role in the biosecurity system in collaboration with its stakeholders. BQ leads the Queensland Government's efforts to protect our way of life, environment, biodiversity, human and animal health, industries and economy from plant and animal pest and disease threats. Through supporting the collective efforts of our stakeholders and all Queenslanders, BQ will continue to protect our state and Australia from emerging plant and animal pests and diseases and effectively manage existing ones.

Plant Biosecurity and Product Integrity (PBPI) - The PBPI Program has an integral role in delivering BQ's vision of leading the delivery of innovative, customer focused biosecurity services for Queensland. The Program's goal is to protect Queensland's agricultural industries, environment and communities from plant pests and diseases, and facilitate trade in high quality, safe agricultural products.

Join us as a Data Management and Mapping Officer, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting plant biosecurity efforts by ensuring the effective management, analysis, and reporting of surveillance data. You will be responsible for documenting data entry requirements, developing training programs, and collaborating with specialist teams to enhance data management systems and spatial mapping applications. Your expertise in biosecurity surveillance information will drive improvements in data quality, reporting, and mapping to support risk analysis and biosecurity planning. Use your analytical and problem-solving skills to support biosecurity planning and risk analysis while building your expertise in information and geo-spatial systems.

You will know you're achieving success when you are:
• Contributing to Queensland's plant biosecurity system by delivering accurate and timely data and mapping solutions that support surveillance and risk analysis.
• Designing and implementing improved data management processes, ensuring high-quality, complete, and reliable data for biosecurity planning and reporting.
• Collaborating effectively with specialist teams to enhance GIS mapping systems and provide actionable insights through innovative spatial data applications.
