Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the operational delivery of biomedical technology services across Queensland's public health system.
As a key member of the Biomedical Technology Services (BTS) executive team, this role ensures consistent, high-quality, and safe service delivery through hospital-based teams and centralised business support functions. The Senior Director plays a pivotal role in aligning BTS operations with Queensland Health's strategic priorities, clinical needs, and service improvement goals.
What you'll do
- Provide expert-level leadership in statewide biomedical technology services, ensuring safe, efficient, and responsive delivery across diverse clinical and operational environments.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic frameworks that advance professional competence and integrate multidisciplinary services to support high-quality statewide health outcomes.
- Drive statewide governance, risk management, and compliance across BTS service delivery and business support functions, ensuring alignment with national and governmental health priorities.
- Champion innovation, digital transformation, and data-driven decision-making to enhance service performance and future readiness across BTS operations.
- Manage a large multidisciplinary workforce, overseeing strategic resource allocation, workforce planning, capability development, and financial stewardship to ensure sustainable service delivery.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Tertiary qualifications in health administration, engineering / science / technology, business, or a related field are highly desirable.
- Executive leadership training or postgraduate qualifications in management or public administration are advantageous.
- Extensive leadership experience in health service delivery, clinical support, or engineering / scientific / technology operations.
- Proven ability to manage large, geographically dispersed teams and complex operational portfolios.
- Strong strategic planning, governance, and performance management capabilities.
- High-level stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in leading change, innovation, and service transformation in a health or technology environment.
