About your role

This advanced-level role is pivotal in driving safe, contemporary and evidence-based patient handling practice across Metro South Health.

In this role, you will:

• Provide advanced clinical reasoning and expert guidance on complex patient handling and hazardous manual tasks.
• Lead the development, implementation and review of strategies, systems and initiatives to mitigate patient handling risks.
• Act as the primary clinical reference point for patient handling across Metro South Health.
• Deliver high-level consultancy services in accordance with legislative, ethical and professional standards.
• Mentor and support clinicians to resolve urgent and complex issues.
• Produce high-quality reports, briefs, presentations and clinical documentation.

About you

You are a highly experienced health practitioner with advanced knowledge in patient handling, manual task risk mitigation or musculoskeletal injury prevention.

You will bring:

• Advanced clinical expertise in evidence-based patient handling practice and injury prevention.
• Strong understanding of patient-centred, value-based and connected care models.
• Proven ability to prepare high-quality written documents, reports and submissions.
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes.
• Possession of a relevant post graduate qualification or enrolment in (highly desirable).
• Tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant profession and eligibility for registration/membership.
• Commitment to travelling across Metro South Health sites as required.
