About your role
This advanced-level role is pivotal in driving safe, contemporary and evidence-based patient handling practice across Metro South Health.
In this role, you will:
- Provide advanced clinical reasoning and expert guidance on complex patient handling and hazardous manual tasks.
- Lead the development, implementation and review of strategies, systems and initiatives to mitigate patient handling risks.
- Act as the primary clinical reference point for patient handling across Metro South Health.
- Deliver high-level consultancy services in accordance with legislative, ethical and professional standards.
- Mentor and support clinicians to resolve urgent and complex issues.
- Produce high-quality reports, briefs, presentations and clinical documentation.
About you
You are a highly experienced health practitioner with advanced knowledge in patient handling, manual task risk mitigation or musculoskeletal injury prevention.
You will bring:
- Advanced clinical expertise in evidence-based patient handling practice and injury prevention.
- Strong understanding of patient-centred, value-based and connected care models.
- Proven ability to prepare high-quality written documents, reports and submissions.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes.
- Possession of a relevant post graduate qualification or enrolment in (highly desirable).
- Tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in a relevant profession and eligibility for registration/membership.
- Commitment to travelling across Metro South Health sites as required.
