About the role
In this role, you will support and enhance developmental paediatric services across Mount Isa and the broader region. You will work closely with allied health, community partners, and the paediatric team to improve early intervention, care coordination, and health outcomes for children.
Key Focus Area
Provide specialist developmental paediatric assessment and management for children with neurodevelopmental and behavioural needs. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to deliver culturally responsive, family-centred care. Contribute to service improvement, teaching, and clinical governance within the Child Development Service.

Competitive pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value up to $597,185 p.a.
- Base salary ranges between $216,643 and $274,678 p.a. (L18-L27) (Paid pro-rata for engagement period or part time employee)
- 5 weeks annual recreational leave accumulation with 17.5% loading when taken
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance (Assigned Model)
- Regional and Rural attraction allowance of 15% base annual salary
- Professional development allowance and leave of 3.6 weeks p.a.
- Rent-free accommodation will be provided for a period of 17 months as per NWHHS Procedure for Staff Accommodation
- Transfer and appointment expenses (conditions apply)

Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Paediatrics and/or Community/Developmental Paediatrics, or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
