About us
At the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC), our primary responsibility is to provide support and guidance to the Premier and Cabinet to effectively deliver on the government's priorities, commitments, decisions, and objectives for the betterment of the community. Communication, Digital and Design is a multidisciplinary team, providing strategic advice and leadership that supports the government's priorities. We lead dynamic integrated communication and engagement solutions, across a variety of channels, targeting diverse audiences to ensure a more informed and connected Queensland.

How you'll contribute
As Team Leader, Communication, you'll lead integrated communication strategies that ensure the Queensland Government's voice and identity is consistent and engaging across all channels. This role connects vision to execution, bringing strategic thinking, creative judgement and collaboration.

You will
• Lead the creation and implementation of effective communication strategies, tactics and content across print, online, and social media, ensuring they are evidence based, align with best practices, and meet deadlines and budget requirements.
• Manage Queensland Government communication channels including social media and internal communication. 
• Lead the implementation and governance of the Queensland Government brand strategy, architecture, guidelines and visual identity
• Provide expert advice to Queensland Government departments and teams on communication strategies, messaging and alignment to government priorities, and brand application.
• Establish brand governance processes, approvals and compliance, insights and reporting to ensure consistency and quality across all communication assets.
• Collaborate with communication, digital, design and advertising teams across government to ensure integrated communication experiences.
• Build brand capability across the public sector through the Brand Network and training, resources and guidance.
• Lead a team of communication specialists including managing government priorities, workloads, risks and deadlines to ensure the provision of high-quality advice and services to clients and stakeholders.

What you'll bring to the role
• Demonstrated experience leading a small team of communication specialists in a dynamic and busy environment with a proven ability to meet conflicting deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience in managing brand application, tone, and messaging consistency across a large organisation.
• Demonstrated understanding of brand architecture, governance, design systems and integrated communication.
• Demonstrated experience in advisory roles with high-level stakeholders.
