This position is based in Brisbane and flexible arrangements can be considered upon application, including working remotely at a Regional QBCC office subject to availability.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
As the Assessment Officer, you will:
- Ensure that the performance and effectiveness of QBCC's claims management under the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme (QHWS) is continually improved.
- Investigate and assess claims in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, guidelines and procedures to accurately determine claim entitlements and approve related claim payments to delegated level.
- Contribute as required, to the development and delivery of claims operations within Resolution Services.
- Provide claim recommendations to various officers within a delegated escalation pathway for decisions and actions to manage claims under the QHWS.
- As required, represent QBCC before QCAT in review proceedings or courts with assistance from QBCC's legal representatives.
- Undertake other general duties that contribute toward the ongoing improvement of the Resolution Services team and foster a cohesive team environment.
Candidate Attributes:
- Ability to apply, interpret and provide advice on legislation, policies and procedures in the context of claims under the QHWS.
- Demonstrate sound investigative, analytical problem solving and decision-making skills, including prioritising, planning and organising an on-going caseload.
- Demonstrate the skills and capability required to work effectively within the building, construction or insurance industries.
- Demonstrate sound skills in communicating, consulting, liaising and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders.
