An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical and Research Fellow in the Radiation Oncology service at Sunshine Coast Health. Commencing in February 2026, the Fellow will work at an intermediary level between the Advanced Trainee Registrars and Consultants in the service, with a focus in areas of research and clinical trials.

The Clinical and Research Fellow, Radiation Oncology position is aimed at a Specialist who has recently completed their training in Radiation Oncology. The Fellowship will aim at extending your knowledge and expertise in Radiation Oncology in preparation for entering your consultant years. The candidate must be a Fellow of the Royal Australasia and New Zealand College of Radiologists or expected to be by the starting date of this position. Two days per week will be protected for research and the Fellow will not be required to participate in on-call duties or inpatient care.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide outpatient Radiation Oncology services at a level intermediary between the Advanced Trainee Registrars and Consultants
  • Assist the Radiation Oncology Research Team in the review and co-ordination of patients on or being considered for clinical trials and the development of further protocols.
  • Assist the Consultant staff in the supervision and education of junior medical staff within the Radiation Oncology team.
  • The Clinical and Research Fellow in the Radiation Oncology Service reports to the Medical Director, Radiation Oncology.

Salary rates: $6,524.30 - $7,189.50 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (17.5%) (L10 - L13) (temporary full-time position, 76 hrs p.f.) commencing February 2026.  Applications will remain current for 12 months / or the duration of the vacancy.
