The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Speech Pathologist – Senior (High Complexity Cognitive Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Undertake high level speech pathology duties of a complex and varied nature
  • Facilitate and promote communication accessibility for consumers
  • Apply professional judgement to a complex caseload
  • Actively contribute to local clinical education programs

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Tertiary degree in Speech Pathology
  • Eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia
  • Working with Children Check (GCH will cover cost)
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Driver Licence
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary part time (up to 5th April 2026 with possibility of extension, 30.4 hours p.f)
  • Base salary ranging from $64.64 - $69.55 per hour

About Us

The Departments service aims to provide specialised, responsive, person focused and culturally competent inpatient care; working collaboratively with care providers and key stakeholders, to facilitate prompt and safe discharge home. The High Complexity Cognitive Care Service supports adult inpatients who have an intellectual or developmental disability, a neurodevelopmental condition, or who have a cognitive or behavioural complexity best managed under a specialist team.
