EOI - Guidance Officer - Goondiwindi State School (Cluster)

Darling Downs South West Region is seeking applicants for an expression of interest to fill a full-time temporary Guidance Officer vacancy within the Goondiwindi cluster.
The position will be based at Goondiwindi State School providing services to a circuit of primary and P10 schools including ECDP.
This position requires travel and applicants to have a current drivers license. Goondiwindi Guidance Officers are able to access vehicles for delivery of the service to the circuit and teacher accommodation is available within the town.
Goondiwindi is approximately 220km from Toowoomba and provides a range of amenities including Prep to year 12 educational facilities and medical services.

This is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.
What We Are Looking For
We require a Guidance Officer who is able to work as part of the support teams across the schools while also being able to work independently to deliver high quality services. An applicant with knowledge of diverse learners, inclusive practices and supporting student's mental health and behavioural needs would be highly favourable.
About The Role
As a Guidance Officer, you have the opportunity to:
- Provide professional expertise, leadership and support to school communities and networks in the development and implementation of plans, programs and procedures to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental and lifelong learning outcomes.
- Collaboratively negotiate, develop and implement programs for students that have a focus on preventative and early intervention strategies, are responsive to identified personal, social, emotional and educational needs, and aim to foster resilience and personal skills development.

Applicants must have completed qualifications by the end of Semester 2, 2025 in line with the mandatory requirements of the Guidance Officer position.
