Summary

The Clinical Nurse will provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients and nursing staff within the renal unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality person centred care.

This is a Fixed Term Temporary role commencing early February 2026 for 5 weeks.

  • Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity

The renal unit provides acute and chronic renal replacement therapy in a variety of settings, including incentre, satellite and home-based haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, to patients with renal failure.

The Home Hill dialysis unit is an eight-chair satellite unit within Townsville renal services. This unit will provide a six-day service providing high quality care to patients located in the Burdekin area.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
