A unique opportunity for an engagement leader with campaign experience to join the ECQ's Communication Team in Strategy Policy and Governance. Working as part of our close-knit team, you will use your high-level communication and engagement skills to plan and deliver strategies for community engagement to improve public participation in election events and raise awareness of electoral processes as well as support planning communication campaigns for the local government and state general elections in 2028 and drive the ECQ's.

Your contribution

  • Develop strategies for the ECQ's stakeholder engagement program with key cohorts of the community in the lead up to the local government and state general elections in 2028.
  • Delivers strategic stakeholder engagement initiatives including building and maintaining ECQ's stakeholder lists and developing relationships with peak bodies.
  • Undertake research and analysis of key trends and community sentiment to support stakeholder engagement strategies and ECQ communication.
  • Undertakes planning and preparation to support the ECQ's communication campaigns for the local government and state general elections in 2028.
  • Support operational stakeholder engagement activities for State and local government by-elections held periodically.
  • Contributes to the delivery of the ECQ's strategic communication objectives, including through effective public awareness and engagement programs and activities to support elector engagement and participation.
  • Support planning for key communication election projects to be delivered in major election events.
  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills with the ability to deliver customer-centered content for a diverse range of audiences and channels.
  • Demonstrate skills in managing multiple priorities and ensuring key deliverables are met within required timeframes, applying a strong understanding of public sector corporate governance responsibilities.
  • Contribute to team cohesiveness, wellbeing and capability through participation in establishing a positive environment, respectful of the views of others across the Strategic, Policy and Governance team and broader ECQ workforce.
  • Consistently display the ECQ and Queensland Government values, ensuring they are upheld at all levels of the organisation.

 

Essential/desirable requirements

  • Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, experience in developing/delivering advertising campaigns and engagement programs are highly desirable.
