About us:

The Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) provides first line health care for the people of Woorabinda and surrounding population. Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Operational and Administrative staff provide 24-hour Accident and Emergency Care, low acuity inpatient care, Residential Aged Care and a wide range of Community and Public Health services including pharmacy and dental services.

The service currently operates across two facilities an integrated Hospital, Residential Aged Care (4 Beds) and Community and Primary Facility, and an offsite Community Alcohol; and Drug and Mental Health Service Facility. The plan currently underway to extend the building and service to cater for a 14-bed residential care and to move all services to the one address. A renal Satellite unit also operates on site managed by the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, Rockhampton Renal Service.

About the role:

To work in a Multipurpose Health Service with an enthusiastic management team to deliver emergency and acute care to the Woorabinda community.

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is a senior level clinician and manager, accountable at an advanced level in the leading, directing and coordination of nursing and associated services within the clinical unit, providing the highest level of care to patients, while meeting national and professional standards.

About you:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate.
  • Post graduate qualifications in acute care, health Management and Indigenous Health while not mandatory would be advantageous to the applicant.
    • Credentialling as a Xray operator is advantageous in a rural and remote health facility.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
