About the work facility

Hughenden, also known as ‘Hughie', is situated on the banks of the Flinders River, Queensland's longest river. Hughenden has direct road access to a number of major centres and tourist attractions within the region. The Flinders Highway runs through Hughenden connecting to Townsville (376km) in the east and Mount Isa (519km) in the west, with a southern sealed road access via the Dinosaur Way to Winton and Longreach.

Hughenden has four National Parks, gem fields, mountainous volcanic basalt country, sweeping black soil plains and rich fossil and dinosaur areas. Swimming, fishing and bird watching are a must do when visiting and living here.

Casual Rates of: $41.50 to $45.44 p.h. (Nurse Grade 1 Band 1)

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care? As an Assistant in Nursing (AIN), you'll play a vital role in supporting Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses to provide high-quality care to patients.

This hands-on position involves performing essential service activities and aspects of direct patient care, ensuring comfort and dignity for every individual. Working under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse, you'll contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment while maintaining accountability for your own actions. Requirements:

  • Highly Desirable: Applicants who meet one of the following criteria are considered highly desirable:
    • Hold a relevant Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Service Assistant or equivalent, or
    • Successful completion of the first semester full-time equivalent Diploma of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies, or
    • Successful completion of the first year full-time equivalent undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies
  • Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check: As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or a NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
  • This is a (VPD) risk role
