The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Principal Lawyer to join our Legal Services team. This position is based in Brisbane, and the successful candidate will be required to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement reflecting Brisbane as their primary office location. While the role allows for flexibility in working from home, regular in-person attendance at the Brisbane office is a mandatory requirement.

You are a confident advocate and strategic thinker with a passion for administrative law and public sector litigation. You thrive in complex environments and enjoy leading others to achieve excellence.

You will bring:

• Extensive litigation experience, ideally within government, administrative law, or civil litigation.
• Proven leadership capability, with experience mentoring and developing lawyers in a fast‑paced legal environment.
• Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical and high‑quality legal advice.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
• A commitment to delivering client‑focused, solutions‑oriented legal services.
