This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Facilities Officer to join our friendly and supportive school community.

Working closely with the Business Manager or their nominated delegate, the Facilities Officer will play a vital role in maintaining school facilities, supporting teaching and support staff, and ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the school.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for range of activities that may include preparing classrooms and halls for examinations and events. Moving/arranging furniture and seating, checking, storing and distributing school supplies and stocks,
  • Assist with a range of duties that include clearing and hosing of drains and gutters, assist with requirements for significant events.
  • Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Maintain school security system, banking and locking and unlocking of buildings.
  • Attend to/or arrange repairs and maintenance within the school, including those relating to furniture, equipment, locks and windows.
  • Liaise with various internal and external personnel (e.g. tradespersons).
