The role of the Manager is to lead and manage the Elevate: Leadership and Practice Excellence Team in the delivery of high-quality support, advice and projects that contribute to the effective operation of Queensland’s youth detention centre, specifically reform focused initiatives focused on leadership, service delivery and frontline support, program and practice improvement, and ensuring the effective implementation of rehabilitative service responses, programs and case management approaches. The role also provides expert advice and leadership on a range of statutory and practice matters.

As Manager, Elevate - Leadership and Practice Excellence, you will specifically:
- Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Provide and coordinate high level expert advice and reporting on a range of complex reform focused initiatives specific to program and practice enhancement and leadership capability
- Represent the department at inter-departmental committees and undertake effective consultation with key internal and external stakeholders on a range of strategic and operational matters.
- Manage and coordinate submissions, project plans, briefs, correspondence and other initiatives and contribute a strategic perspective to responses.
- Manage and coordinate major reform projects and implementation of initiatives
- Coordinate and/or conduct research into youth detention matters and other practices which may affect the practice and operations of the department, including the analysis of findings and the recommendations and identify appropriate courses of action.
- Manage the Elevate - Leadership and Practice Excellence team, including financial and human resource responsibilities.
- Actively participate and contribute to the governance and strategic objectives of Youth Justice and the department.
