The purpose of the position of Principal Project Officer – Child Development is to lead and manage the development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives that contribute to improvements to organisational process, culture, networks, knowledge and ultimately service delivery in the clinical area of child development in HHS across the state of Queensland.

About the Team

The Queensland Child and Youth Clinical Network (QCYCN) connects health professionals, services, and systems across Queensland to improve the safety and quality of health care.

We also offer clinical expertise and advice to our network, Queensland Health and other Queensland government departments and agencies to:

  • help develop new models of care and clinical guidelines and frameworks
  • identify statewide health care issues and trends
  • improve health care service planning, research and education.

About the Role

In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values. Your contribution will include:

  • Develop allied health workforce capability for clinical redesign and project implementation through education, support and targeted coaching of project leads and clinical teams.
  • Translate evidence into practice and contribute to research
  • Develop and implement systems and strategies to ensure effective governance for quality, safety and risk across the program
  • Manage, monitor, and deliver key projects, project priorities or project initiatives ensuring transparency of progress, regular status reporting and early advice to the Co-chairs of the Child Development Sub-network of any expected deviations from the plan and recommended corrective actions.
