Assistant in Nursing

The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) assists and supports the Registered Nurses (RN) in the provision of indirect person-centred care and works collaboratively with the Associate NUM Materials and Resources, specialty CN’s and Central Sterilising Unit (CSU) to ensure surgical supplies and requirements are managed in a timely and appropriate manage to ensure they are available for surgical procedures. The AIN is responsible for providing nursing care in a professional, safe and compassionate manner as a member of Operating Theatre Suite team according to their education and competence.

About the Team
The Operating Room Suite (ORS) provides surgery at CSCF Level 6 for children and young people from birth to 16 years of age (and up to 18 years for established paediatric patients) for a broad range of elective and emergency surgical patients. The ORS provides surgery services for children with the highest level of risk and surgical complexity.
About the Role
In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values.
You'll fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015 - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 1 Band 1 and the Queensland Health and Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CHQHHS) commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
