Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P) is seeking an Senior Ranger (Communications) AO5 to focus on delivering communications, ensuring safety, & aligning with regional priorities as outlined in the regional business plan.
Key responsibilities include developing interpretive and safety signage, maintaining park web pages/social media, and applying project management skills to deliver high- quality digital/print media content in line with legislation, departmental policies, and regional goals.

About the role 
The Senior Ranger (Communications) AO5 works within Technical Support business area in leading, supervising, and mentoring a small but dynamic team responsible for visitor communications across the South East Queensland Region.
The focus is on maximising team performance, ensuring safety, and aligning with regional priorities as outlined in the work unit business plan. Key responsibilities include prioritising and delivering visitor communication tasks such as interpretive and safety signage, park web pages,social media advice, and other communication projects. The role also requires applying project management skills to deliver high-quality digital and print mediacontent in line with legislation, departmental policies, and regional goals.

The role includes:

  • regular engagement with technical and operations teams to ensure an integrated approach to visitor communications.
  • liaising with central office teams to improve policies and systems
  • building relationships with stakeholders such as government agencies,contractors, industry groups, and traditional owners.
  • focusing on continuous improvement, reporting, and evaluation of visitor communication programs is essential.
  • excellent written communication and design skills
  • attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering public communication and interpretative materials
