About the role
This is part of a rolling recruitment process; applications will be assessed as received when vacancies arise.
As a Senior Medical Officer working in one of our rural hospitals (Gatton) a successful applicant will be required to practice as a skilled and competent senior rural generalist. This requires an applicant who can practice a high level of in-patient and emergency medicine, independently, with a broad scope of practice despite limited onsite investigations available. For this reason, RGs with advanced skills in Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine will be highly regarded.
These positions will be based at Gatton Hospital and the successful applicant will also be required to provide backfill at the other three rural hospitals (Laidley, Boonah and Esk) when necessary.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Passion for providing excellent clinical care to their community as a Rural Medical Officer
- Experience in delivering quality care to inpatients, outpatients, Emergency Department clients across a variety of acuity and care needs.
- Knowledge and practical application of the National Quality & Safety Standards through the delivery of Safe and Quality focussed Patient centred care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills across a variety of settings including in an emergency
