This position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent Machinery-of-Government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the TMR Agreement conditions apply to this position.

We are looking for a passionate Driving Examiner who can use their exceptional communication and customer service skills to conduct driver licence assessments, ensuring and advocating road safety across in the Toowoomba Region.

As the Driving Examiner, you will:
• Conduct practical driving assessments for applicants, ensuring compliance with Queensland Government standards and road safety regulations.
• Evaluate candidates' driving skills, knowledge of road rules, and ability to vehicles safely in various traffic and road conditions.
• Provide clear, constructive, and professional feedback to candidates following assessments.
• Ensure all testing procedures are carried out fairly, consistently and in accordance with departmental policies.
• Promote road safety awareness and contribute to the department's goals of reducing road incidents involving heavy vehicles.
• Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of services to the community.

Role requirements:
• A current and valid Queensland driver's licence, including HR for 12 months as mandatory with HC (Heavy Combination) & R (motorcycle) as highly desirable or higher preferred class.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Driving Examiner accreditation through the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
• A clean driving record with no significant infringements.
• Some travel will be involved with this role to support neighbouring centres
