PART-TIME FACULTY SUPPORT OFFICER

As a Faculty Support Officer with TAFE Queensland, you will play a pivotal role in shaping an exceptional student experience. In this varied and rewarding position, you’ll provide guidance on academic progression, faculty processes, and wellbeing services, while driving engagement initiatives that help students thrive. Alongside supporting our learners, you’ll ensure smooth faculty operations through efficient administration, compliance, and continuous improvement, contributing to a collaborative and innovative culture.
About the Position - Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to student academic and wellbeing enquiries, acting as a link between students and student services, by providing guidance in line with established resolution options, or identifying the appropriate support services and referring.
- Support student engagement activities, including campus tours, orientation sessions, intensive skills workshops, and residential school allocations, while coordinating communications and monitoring attendance.
- Maintain accurate faculty records by managing essential tracking systems used by the faculty and TAFE Queensland, ensuring information for both faculty and students is current and reliable.
- Monitor communications and assist with academic progression, responding promptly to enquiries and escalating complex matters when required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current faculty practices, processes, and organisational requirements to provide accurate guidance and support.
- Contribute to effective faculty communications, including SMS alerts, CRM queue monitoring, intake reports, and liaising with staff and students to support faculty outcomes.
- Provide administrative support for faculty operations, including organising meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, managing documentation, processing routine reports, and assisting faculty staff with administrative requirements in line with operational procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by supporting faculty activities, collaborating as a team member, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
About You – Key Capabilities:
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build positive relationships and engage effectively with team members, faculty leadership, teaching staff, and a diverse student cohort
- Strong administration skills with proven ability to deliver accurate and efficient administrative processes, applying strong attention to detail, ensuring precision in documentation, operational tasks, and professional student correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time to effectively prioritise workload to ensure outcomes are achieved within deadlines, while maintaining strong attention to detail and quality service delivery.
- Sound knowledge, or ability to acquire knowledge, of faculty operations, student processes, and support services, with the ability to identify issues and facilitate appropriate resolutions or referrals.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and ethically, demonstrating a proactive approach and adaptability in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Position Details: Based at our Southport Campus, in our Community Health & Services Faculty, this position is currently, part-time (21 ¾ hours/fortnight) fixed-term, until 26/06/2026 with possibility of extension and increased hours.
Salary: AO3, $77,354 – $85,833 p.a. (full-time equivalent), pro rata to $23,206 – $25,750 p.a. Plus 12.75% superannuation
