About the role:
As the Field Officer, you will:
• Promote the benefits of training, skills development, vocational education and training (VET) pathway options and workforce development by engaging with clients and stakeholders including employers, schools, training organisations, community-based organisations, enterprises and individuals.
• Monitor stakeholder performance through continuous improvement, stakeholder education and capacity-building initiatives.
• Strengthen the VET system by developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders supported by capacity-building activities and project management.
• Provide a high-level service in the application of relevant corporate governance procedures of the department including team building, quality service delivery, project management, customer service, correspondence, record keeping, workplace health and safety, equity and diversity practices, and staff supervision when required.
What we are looking for:
The position requires an applicant who can align with the role's requirements:
• Demonstrate or quickly acquire knowledge of, Queensland's VET sector, workforce development issues and departmental programs.
• Research, collect and analyse data, investigate issues, manage projects, make decisions and recommendations that support regional objectives within a corporate governance framework.
• Foster a positive work environment by adopting a principled approach and ensuring advice to colleagues, stakeholders and clients is timely, accurate, appropriate and of high quality.
• Take personal responsibility for timely and accurate completion of work, demonstrating energy and commitment to achieving business unit and regional objectives.
• Communicate effectively through strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills including liaison, consultation, conflict resolution, problem solving, negotiation, public speaking and report writing, with proven experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders such as, individuals, training organisations, community-based organisations, enterprises and industry sectors.
