As a Kitchen Porter, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our diverse catering operations. Working within the Parliamentary precinct, you'll support a team that delivers exceptional dining experiences – from fine dining at Strangers' Restaurant to casual dining and large-scale event catering.

This is an opportunity to be part of a team committed to sustainability and sourcing local produce in a unique environment supporting Queensland's Parliament.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning tasks to maintain hygiene standards in all catering areas.
  • Wash crockery, pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
  • Sanitise catering equipment (ovens, deep fryers, cool rooms, food processors).
  • Remove waste and clean floors, walls, and shelving.
  • Order, restock, and organize kitchen supplies.
  • Assist with moving catering supplies and equipment throughout the precinct.
  • Provide direction to casual and agency Kitchen Porters.

We are looking for:

  • Experience working in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and food hygiene practices.
  • Understanding of catering operations, food storage, and inventory control.
