As a Kitchen Porter, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our diverse catering operations. Working within the Parliamentary precinct, you'll support a team that delivers exceptional dining experiences – from fine dining at Strangers' Restaurant to casual dining and large-scale event catering.
This is an opportunity to be part of a team committed to sustainability and sourcing local produce in a unique environment supporting Queensland's Parliament.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain hygiene standards in all catering areas.
- Wash crockery, pots, pans, and cooking utensils.
- Sanitise catering equipment (ovens, deep fryers, cool rooms, food processors).
- Remove waste and clean floors, walls, and shelving.
- Order, restock, and organize kitchen supplies.
- Assist with moving catering supplies and equipment throughout the precinct.
- Provide direction to casual and agency Kitchen Porters.
We are looking for:
- Experience working in a similar role.
- Strong communication and teamwork.
- Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and food hygiene practices.
- Understanding of catering operations, food storage, and inventory control.
